Shall I be poor forever?

National Crime Record Bureau has recently released the report about farmers' suicides. Pratik Umbarkar (NIRMAN 6), has explained to us the crux of the report. The original report can be found at: http://ncrb.gov.in/ADSI2014/chapter-2A%20farmer%20suicides.pdf

In India, 48.9% people directly or indirectly depend on Agriculture. Farmer’s Suicide is leading social problem in India. National Crime Record Bureau presented the stats on farmer’s suicides committed in 2014.

Total 5650 farmer’s suicides have been committed in the year of 2014. In this figure Maharashtra alone contributes 45.5% of the number.i.e. 2570 suicides. Maharashtra (45.5%), Telangana (15.9%), Madhya Pradesh (14.6%), Chattisgarh (7.8%) and Karnataka (5.7%) these five states makes the sum of 89.5% i.e. 5056 suicides. If you observe map then you will find that these states lie in central and southern-west zone of India. There might be the reason of farmer’s suicide in the common zone. It may be due to poor environmental conditions or any other common factor. If these five states are tackled then about 89.5% of farmer’s suicides can be overcome.

According to Wikipedia 2002 information about 85% people below poverty line are marginal farmers, small farmers and landless labours. If strategies are applied for this section then 85% poverty can be uprooted.

These three causes make the sum of 50.91% of suicides. If alcohol is banned then about 4.42% of farmer’ssuicides can be controlled. Other than farmer’s suicide many suicides are committed under the cause of Alcohol addiction.
I agree that every poor person in India should get food twice a day. But for this purpose, how many years food producer “THE FARMER” should remain poor?
